Potty training ugh!
They aren't ready until they're ready. This is true for those without autism, too. But at least neurologically typical toddlers can be shamed into conforming. Autism by definition has no shame, or… read more

Has Anyone's Child Had Major Behavioral Issues After Starting ABA, Or Any Other New Therapy?
My grandson started ABA, speech and occupational therapy for 40 hours last week. He has become very aggressive, difficult, and resistant to being touched, which were not issues before he began. Are these symptoms red flags that the therapy may be too aggressive for him?
They have to be scheduled and I did observe one session. He did respond well..but that was only one session and it did not include transition which is a problem for him.
Hello, I Live In Florida. Does Anyone Know If ABA Therapy Is Covered Under United Healthcare Community Plan Through Healthy Kids?
I know it covers occupational and speech, but cannot find out about ABA.
Thank you in advance.

Ways To Deal With Anxiety?
please, looking for suggestions of elements of routine, predictable days, diet, anything that can help tweens with anxiety. Since puberty started it seems like more. I also used to have more activities and toys for them than I do now. What solutions can others recommend?? aside from medication (that's not a viable option).
What about a set picture schedule for the week, daily aerobics or exercise in the am, a few days inbetween of down time for decompressing, relaxation after extreme sensory activities, weighted vests… read more
Daycare For Autistic Toddler
My oldest son just got diagnosed with autism he’s 3 years old. I’ve had to constantly pick him up from daycare only after i started receiving subsidy for it. They keep telling me he’s a safety hazard to the other children and teachers when he has a meltdown but has never acted like that with babysitters or at home only there. I’m in the process of finding a teacher to be with him while he’s there but I don’t know if I should just find a new daycare as well.
No I live in PA. I didn’t realize my profile said that and I’m not sure why it did. But there’s not very many resources for kids with autism near me. I’ve even talked with my kids doctors, the… read more
California: Charter School / Homeschooling?
Hello Everyone,
My question is in regards to Homeschooling / Charter school options in California. I know California has strict laws about Homeschooling and having to register as a private school in your home. Also, he is now experiencing things he hadn't before such as crying during recess, he won't… read more
