What ADHD Medications Have Worked Well For Your Children With Asperger's?
My son has been on Daytrana patch since February. He currently is at 20 mg. I feel like it is not working at all. He is more irritable, aggressive and impulsive. He cannot swallow pills due to sensory issues. We previously tried Focalin XR (he kept chewing the beads) and Vyvanse (increased tics). I was wondering about Methylin as it comes in a liquid or chewable or Dextroamphetamine which also comes in a liquid. Anyone have any experience with these???? Thanks!
My child has been on adderal for 10 years and risperdone it works well for her
Remeron And Weight Gain
My son is 11 yrs old and is a very HF aspie. He has been on Remeron for anxiety for 2 years now. We upped the dose about 6 months ago because he had grown. He has gained a lot of weight in that 6 months. He is starting to have self esteem problems. He has been exercising but nothing seems to help. I have done the research and I know that this medication does this. I am going to see his psychiatrist to ask for another med. I feel like the self esteem issues are very important. I was wondering if… read more
Remeron works very well for anxiety but it does totally cause weight gain. And until you get off of it or change medications it will be difficult for your son to lose the weight. I would definitely… read more

What Experiences Have You Had With Mood Stabilizing Moods With Kids? How About Blood Pressure Meds W/ ADHD Meds To Stabilize Mood?
My son is on an ADHD med, Vyvanse. Does anyone have experience using mood stabilizing medication with their children along with Vyvanse or other ADHD meds? How about the addition of blood pressure medication that has been seen to stabilize moodiness caused by ADHD meds?
This is a really good question, I myself take ability for mood and it hasn’t been helping, plus it wakes me up at night a lot. My son is fixing to be 9 and his always had problems with irritability… read more
My Son Is ASD Age 5 Years 9 Months And We Are Looking At Medication To Treat Agressive Behaviors And ADHD Behaviors.
The research I am doing now is with focalin, daytrana, the ritalin patch, oral ritalin, and welbutrin. There is so much information out there, too much! I'm just a nervous mom trying to get as much information as possible to make an informed decision for my child's well-being. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Please be kind. Thanks!
There are a variety of different Ned's out there and it is always a trial and error kind of situation, and then there is adjusting dosage as well. Sometimes you need a combination of mess to work. Not… read more

Hi, My 12 year old son has been diagnosed with Aspergers and ADD. He’s in middle school now and having a very hard time adjusting. He is highly frustrated by his lack of imeaningful interactions, and relationships and the bullying and teasing that he gets because he is not ostensibly on the spectrum but is very talkative but awkwardly so. He is on guanfacine for his ADD but I’m not sure it’s doing too much. Everyday his depression seems to be getting worse. He also has anxiety and some ocd… read more

My Son's Tantrums Are Getting Out Of Control, Can Anyone HELP Me Or GUIDE Me In The Right Direction? He Is Only 12.
My son is 12 yrs. old. He is on the mild spectrum autism. He has been going to school since he's been 2. He's displayed tantrums in the past, but lately they are getting out of hand. He is getting to the point where he is hitting the staff and students at his school, and starting hitting at home on me and my mother. Throwing things and destroying property. My mother and I are at the point where we don't know how to handle this properly because of his autism. If we give him a time out, he just… read more

[STATEMENT] Bullying, Bullies, Bully...or...'Being Picked On'?
Bullying, Bullies, Bully. All 'Stigmas', 'Labels' that do not get to the 'Root' of the issue. There was a time when there was such a thing as being 'Picked On' by someone that was seeking a 'Friendship' that had any-other way of expressing it
Our ASD Individuals Starve for 'Attention' and either become the 'Victim' or the 'Bully' to get it
