Non-verbal Toddler Talking
We currently have 2 speech therapists, physical therapy, a developmental specialist and ABA every weekday. Our 2 year old doesn't talk really at all (the occasional 'Mom'). I guess I'm looking for stories to give me hope. Did your non-verbal toddler ever catch up to their peers as far as speech goes?
Yes, our son did. We had all the therapists as you mentioned. Keep at it. We used horse therapy
music therapy and then TaeKwonDo-- anything and everything to provide stimulation. Music therapy… read more
Music Therapy In Irvine
Hi,
I am looking for music therapy services for my 4 year old son on Spectrum. He loves music and recites a couple of nursery rhymes by himself when watching on IPad. His language is emerging and would like to try Music therapy. Have heard about Kindermusik in Tustin and McKee Music therapy services in Irvine. McKee Music services fees is exorbitant. They charge $100/hr. Any one has any recommendations? I believe insurance does not cover Music therapy services.
Thanks.

It didn't even occur to me to search for one cheaper on amazon!! Thank you for the idea! I'm going to order one of the Hopwell ones. The sounds these drums make remind me of big windchimes, which he… read more

How do you find ABA therapy?
Your pediatrician may have good recommendations for therapy places in your local area. I would also look online for ABA therapies in your area.

Music Therapy As Part Of IEP?
My daughter is 3 years old and in an integrated pre-k program. She is getting, ST, OT, and PT. Her doctor suggested music therapy be put in her IEP but when I asked the CPSE chairperson to have a music therapy evaluation she said she never heard of such a thing. Does anyone have music therapy written in as part of an IEP? Any advice?
I find that very hard to believe.... in my 11 yrs of advocating for my son I have unfortunately found that the school districts (that we've been in) only do the bare minimum. Many times they think… read more
