Can't Talk?
Ok Any family Autsitics ! can y'all give me some insight on how to help my non verbal son talk or tell me why he dosent?
He has therapy but despite therapy only says words now and again...
Any help would be great.
Thanks
My son was nonverbal until 4. He is 6 and still has trouble finding his words but combined with speech therapy, he learned sign language and with every word I said and signed repeatedly, and I put a camera in his hands he would take pictures of things he wanted and show me the screen and I'd say what it was repeatedly, then I'd print his photos and write on them what they were and we would go over them everyday so his brain would connect the picture with the word. It was fun for him and beat to see what he what he thought he thought was worth photographing.
My son is 5 and mostly non verbal. He has speech apraxia. Where he knows what he wants to say but has a miscommunication between his brain and his mouth. Speech Therapy has really helped. Hope you find the answers your looking for.
Jake was non verbel until 5 then it was a few words on and off then oly say half the word i got pictures and i would put his hand on my mouth when i said the word he felt the vibrations i did this for a long. Time he started doing this himself hes almost 10 now and for the last year i cant talk to him but sometimes i see him searching for the word he wants to say once he says it his memory remembers it
