If i smell fragrances i used to were, It floods my mind with a slide show of memories, that i made when i wore it. There was this one that was a pineapple sent that takes me back to high school and friends, every time. Colognes can remind me the guys in my life that wore them.
Baking bread brings back a memory of my great grandfather - it's really all I remember about him. Baby smells of course take me back to when my kids were little. Shadows make me think of when I was about 9 or 10 and looking at my elongated shadow in the kitchen and wondering what it would be like when I grew up. Seems like this happens to me all of the time...can't think of any more right now though!
Salt water, every summer I went with my grandmother to Hatteras Island. My Aunt and Uncle owned a cottage on the sound. I always went with Grandma and Grandpa and had a whole week of fun before the rest of my family joined us. Being a middle child and the fact that my aunt and uncle had no children but always wanted one equaled a week of totaL BLISS. The smell of warm salt water always triggers these memories.
For me it has to be my taste buds. My mothers cooking is amazing on a regular but, on holidays its extra special. I bite into her famous arroz con gandules and penil and im instantly reminded of every holiday.dinner and how somehow.she's out done herself again.
Cinnamon reminds me of pies and family get togethers and just everything yummy in general.
