My toddler used to eat but just stopped. He used to eat 1 thing and now he would just rather have pedisure shake instead.

They are in OT, and have been working on it at times, but I feel like not enough because they don't work on it at every appointment. Thanks for the resources. I will look into them.

It very well may be a sensory issue. My son had many sensory issues including oral sensory issues. It wasnt the taste of the food, it was the textures that gave him problems. He would gag and then vomit. He weighed 30 pounds for 3 years straight. There are oral sensory therapies that may help your son.

If he gets OT, ask his therapist for some oral therapies you can do at home before every meal.

I did these therapies along with continually introducing foods to him. It took YEARS, but his diet improved to the point that I don't even think about it now. He has a wonderful food repertoire now.

It's a long haul, but it can improve with consistency and being very tenacious.

There are lots of oral tools out there that can help desensitized his mouth making it easier for him to deal with different textures.

Two companies I have use through the years are: Therapro...www.therapro.com and School Specialty... www.schoolspecialty.com.

Hope something I wrote will help. Good luck! 😊👍

He grins his teeth a lot, and is not a fan of anyone getting in his mouth. Dentist will for sure need to put him to sleep. I didn't think about the exposed nerve. Thanks Garry

How's his Oral Health?
It could be a Mouth Sore, or exposed Nerve.
