Does Your Child Act Afraid Of Being In Trouble?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Enid, OK

My daughter will say “yes ma’am or yes boss” in a high-pitched voice and whine and ask if she’s in trouble anytime we say her name, tell her to come here, or ask her to do anything. I think this is her anxiety. She has a med check on Tuesday and I will ask her doctor about increasing the dosage of her anxiety medication.

What is she taking for anxiety? Zoloft and Abilify work wonders for me :)

Yes, my son does. He apologizes for doing things he knows he isn’t allowed to. But in general he’s easy going, mild mannered and funny. He does have anxiety but it’s manageable without meds. At least for now.

Try to avoid medication and let them be themselves otherwise how can we help them to cope with their challenges ahead, medicine is last resort unless it’s required really try it out & be there every step of the way so they know that you understand them well enough and let them shine. I think my son of 6 years inherited this from me but instead of getting a diagnosis the doctors just medicated me and i can’t be myself so feel trapped because I’m different, when society needs to accept us for who we are. Does anyone else agree with me or am I wrong about this?
