Autism And Communication.
My son is 7 and babbles a lot but says only about a handful of words. For those who do what age did your child start talking at? Not sure what is considered non verbal autism? Thanks in advance hope you all have a blessed day.
My son started saying words at 5 years old . The school that he attended for early intervention was great because the class was made up of kids on the sprectrum as well as some that were not. That help my son to develop language. He had speech therapy as well.
My son babbles and hums and does not say many words (mamma and da are the 2 he says.... and very rarely) but makes a lot of sounds. Sometimes he can be quite loud. I think verbal means that words can be used together appropriately for communication effectively at some level. Nonverbal is definitely not silent but does not use words in a way or manner that allows for reciprocal communication.
Are you working with a Speech pathologist? Hopefully they can be of some help. And Iβve seen videos on Prime Video & Netflix of families getting assistance for their children. Good luck to you!
To me thats really good lol ash says zero words and is almost 8. I would say don't worry so much on a time line like for me i believe Ashley will talk when shes ready, i just continue working with her daily and keep the speech therapy going π but your son saying some words is fantastic in my opinion. :)
Keep up the good work dad!
My son said his first word after loss of a few words at 3 1/2
Speech therapy and music therapy has helped him a lot. He is able to ask
And answer questions but still
Not conversational
