he has autism and learning disability. he has some functionly but cant hold a job and doesnt drive,count money or go to the store byself, he ia on medication and sees his doctor. we are both on ss so they said for much for josh to get help for.eyes.teeth. and help with his medicine has anyone bee in this situation and can give me advice ao what to do tohelp him out thank you for your time. carole a ellis

Why so long with his diagnosis 2 years is a very long time...thats mostly what you run into if you have some job skills my mom's disability took 2 years but she had a batchlors degree my husband's too about 6 months he had no formal education but had worked minimum wage jobs

I would try to apply for the state insurance at the foodstamp office. Sounds like he might qualify and it could bridge the gap while his disability is being processed. Also most foodstamp offices have a resource packet that could include low cost or sliding scale eye and dental costs. If you get a caseworket assigned to him from there, maybe you will get lucky and get a helpful one. The health department might know of resources and discount medication programs as well.

Hi, most hospitals have financial assistance you can apply for to significantly reduce a bill. The hospitals also have financial case managers who can assist with Medicaid applications. You can try GoodRX to help get the medication costs down. You can enter the name of the medication on the GoodRX website to get an estimate of the cost at different pharmacies. I hope this helps.
