I'm looking for the best southern state with the best resources. We're trying not to move back to Ohio, but we're not receiving much help where we're at.

In Texas there are a lot of private care providers but not a lot of people take Medicaid and medicaid does not cover ABA. The medicaid waiver lists are long. Schools have seriously declined since Covid. The medicaid waiver list here is about a decade long. Pick a state that participates in Medicaid expansion. Texas and 9 or 10 other states don't

Not southern but I saw one individual say they were considering moving north. I can say that having my child involved with MMCC (Margaret Murphys Center for Children) has been awesome in Maine. We don't use any in home services or any respite care though respite once in a while might be nice. My only issue is where we live that the public school in trying to slowly get him into the public school setting. I am allowing some because he likes it but he does not want to go full time. He wants to split his time between public school and MMCC.
I personally am not a fan of public schools and don't want him acting like some that attend there and I have seen things in videos where even those we trust to care for them mock and abuse them.
My son currently goes to school 5 days a week during the regular school year and 4 days in the summer so that he and others don't lose what they learned as good behaviors and the teachers will not have to start from ground zero at the beginning of the regular school year if they did not go.

I think everyone 's situation is different. Isabella is on Medicaid and we have no problems getting services. She was in early intervention until December. Right now she goes to full time ABA, speech and physical therapy. We are in Mobile, Alabama
