Do Your Kids Get A Lot Of Cavities Because They Resist Brushing Their Teeth?
My daughter has several cavities. She has gotten fillings before. The dentist said that she needs to brush and floss. They also said that milk has sugar in it and she needs to drink more water instead of milk. I feel guilty because I forget to remind her to brush her teeth and we don’t keep up with flossing at all.
Aziel hates brushing his teeth. It’s always a struggle. We haven’t been able to get his electric toothbrush yet to try that. We are looking into the one that projects water out of it so it takes care of the flossing. He handles the vibrating mouth sensory thing so we are hoping he handles toothbrush well. Maybe that can be an option for you as well.
For the cavities, well no one is perfect. We have good days and bad days as well. We are not perfect by all means. People’s opinion over that overall hygiene can get quite negative. We just say, do your best. Try different things and routines to make brushing easier and more comfortable for your kiddo.
Liam gets some. Not as many as I would have expected because each time to brush his teeth is a struggle. Some years he has not had any though.
I'm assuming the majority of her teeth are still baby teeth, unless she was an early bird losing them :) I didn't lose my first tooth until I was almost 7 (I believe that's how old Vanessa is now). If you start making it a habit now, she can at least avoid them in the future! 😊
