Help With ABA
Hey all, Mom to a nine year oldLittle man living in FL. Having a really hard time getting into ABA therapy, and finding someone that accepts something other than Medicaid. Anyone else have the same problem? Not sure where to go next….
Was your son evaluated and diagnosed? Because if so,the place that evaluated him should be able to find resources for you or offer it and the place that did the evaluation
Yes. That would be great, I really appreciate that!!
Hello ,
There are almost no ABA places that take older kiddos , I found a company called Forta that will accept insurance but they train the parent or care giver for free ( takes about 40 hours ) online , then match you with. Bcab AND pay you ( they hire you as the behavior tech ) and under the guidance of the bcba you get in home ABA therapy. The process takes a few months , I waited about 3 months after I finished the program but it's about all that's out there right now due to very high need. Please let me know if you would like the information.
Thank you so much
I'm sorry to hear that! We also didn't qualify for medicaid and we have to pay a portion out of pocket for now. I've heard of some schools offer certain programs that can help,I wish you luck and hope you find help for your son.
