My son is 11. He was diagnosed with being on the spectrum. It definitely shows in certain things, but he's generally a pretty good kid. However, I am starting to think he has an eating disorder. He has a favorite snack (Quaker Chewy bars) that we give him for school. He is constantly going through them at a ridiculous rate. It sounds like his body is looking for the calories he is losing in growth! :) Kids seem to be growing fast today! When I was 11, I was just a little squirt, lol! I started growing more at around 13. This was the 90s, so not all that long ago, either! ;P

Is he on any medication that makes him more hungry or crave food?

Hugs! Has it been a while since he's had a growth spurt? Maybe his body is craving the carbs. That's just my uneducated guess :)

Has he been tested for ADHD?.Sometimes ADHD and ASD go hand in hand. Addiction to carbs & sweets is often a symptom of ADHD. Is he eating his lunch at school? Maybe he's not so when he gets home he's really hungry? I hope you can figure it out!

maybe let him just eat beacuse his body may be craving what hes eating and take him to play a little more if you can kinda a fun way to burn calories, cause if hes a picky eater, you rather have that than a kid on a feeding tube. sometimes we kinda gotta get creative to help kids be there best.
Just advice. i hope it is helpful.
