Does Anyone Have Tips To Help Stop Self Injuring Behavior?
My 3 year old hits himself when frustrated and will also hit his head on the wall or floor or anything he can. I thought about getting him a safety helmet but he wouldnt tolerate it because he hates things on his head
Thats great i have that too in her bedroom kinda made her room a sensory friendly room but unfortunately for my kid it doesn't help lol :) its ok tho i bought expensive crash pad didn't help either but she does like her swing. This waa bout $600 but worth every penny!!
My 3 y/o had a lot aggressive behavior and I have created a safe corner with pillows, blankets and a bean bag filled with blankets and stuffies. If they have an area that is padded then if they were to harm themselves they would crash on a soft surface. Hang in there! ๐
My 4 year old daughter is the same. Her therapist thinks it out of fustration from being non verbal. Aba supposed be best thing for behavior issues but i actually haven't found a clinic i like so im learning how to do aba with her myself. When she attacks herself or me i just hold her arms and calming tone talk to her. Than after few mins i try a preferred activity or try to figure out what she needs. This is where Aba can helpm cuz youll lpg everything and can find patterns. See what happens before during after each behavior issues u want changed. Im still learning but goodluck i bought all my Aba books on Amazon they have tons so u can learn on your own.
My daughter scratches herself and bites herself as well as tries, and sometimes succeeds, this on others, but so far thatโs just me and rarely her brother. It is so sad and heartbreaking to watch. Starting to last 2 hours and such filth comes out of her mouth...
Does he have a behavior therapist
