My son is 3 years of age,he's nonverbal and very aggressive towards himself. He started to bite his fingernails and i would like some help, when i hold his hands to keep him from biting himself he gets very aggressive. I feel so sad for him..

I would encourage him to use a chewie. Ark chewies are the best and they have so many different options. Tristan loves to grind his teeth. He's always seeking that oral sensory stimulation. Best of luck!

Do you think he would tolerate gloves? They also make some chewlry...it would be awesome if they have one that can be worn on the hand so he can get the same kind of feeling without hurting himself...I hope this helps, it may be worth looking for

What’s wrong with biting nails? It’s a nervous habit that even adults have. Replace it with something that calms him instead of holding his hand- that’s going to make him even more anxious.
