Does Anyone Know How And Which Medical Insurance To Purchase In Houston, Texas Which Will Pay For ABA Therapy?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Houston, TX

The deadline for Affordable Care Act Enrollment has passed but we cannot wait for almost another year to purchase through that route. Can anyone tell me who I can call or how to purchase medical insurance that will cover most of ABA Therapy's fees?

Yes I have asked all the offices which insurance I should purchase but they were not familiar with the ACA plans I mentioned. I am in the process of asking the insurance company for a detailed breakdown before purchasing. Thanks.

Cigna would be great. If you have official diagnosis, the ABA is covered fully. On the other hand, it will depend on the plan detail as well.

Have you tried talking with the office staff at a therapist's office? Ask them what insurance they currently take, and any opinions about which ones have better coverage.

Got it on Healthcare.gov.

Thank you for the information. Did you purchase your insurance on Healthcare.gov or outside the marketplace? It is confusing trying to figure out which is the best option for my son. We need to purchase United Healthcare insurance since the facility we want to take him to only accepts UHC.
