Essential Oils
I read somewhere that essential oils helps the ASD population. Do you have any to recommend for hyperactivity/impulsiveness? If so, how is it used?
@A MyAutismTeam Member can you add something?
It doesn't sound 'nuts'. There are several studies that prove deep pressure assists in calming autistic children. Many sensory integration specialists use this technique.

Ditto to @A MyAutismTeam Member ! She is probably the most knowledgeable about essential oils (and a lot of biomed stuff). We also use a blend that includes vetiver via a diffuser (you can buy several of them on amazon. Easy to use, and directions included). We also use copaiba and ocotea topically (I am in favor of using just a couple of drops, diluted in several drops of jojoba oil, and massaged onto the bottoms of the feet). I would agree that vetiver in a diffuser for maybe 15 min in a well-ventilated area is a good place to start for our kids that need help in calming and focusing. Good luck!
I know it's not crazy, but whenever my friends who have 'typical' kids see this, they crack up. They know me well so we laugh together. :)
None of that worked for me. Massaging worked though. Now it's more like wrestling, but she gets out all of giggles. i also let her roll herself up into a burrito and sit on her, or let her sisters sit on her. I know it sounds nuts but she loves being squished and pushing against anything.
