I bet sleeping with a cat or dog would help! My oldest daughter had sleep issues from day one. It may sound crazy but you do what is required and I had to do everything myself so after snack, bath and reading time I put both of my girls in their car seats and drove around until they fell asleep! LOL!!! Driving in the car was the only thing that would relax them. Today, my oldest (turns 20 this month) is on sleep meds. It's always been a struggle for her. My youngest (16 next month) responds well to Melatonin which is a natural sleep aid but I suggest you consult your pediatrician. If you figure something out, please update us! Hang in there!!! XOXO

lots of fats helps. Cut back on sugars and high carbs. We also use a weighted blanket and give your kid as much physical exercise as possible. If your child tends to be extremely hyper sometimes coffee can actually sedate them. Sounds crazy but stimulants can have a revers effect in hyperactivity.

I've had some luck with tart cherry juice in the afternoon - it has melatonin in it

Hi, my child's pediatrician recommended Melatonin for both my little ones. They both have a very hard time winding down for bed, so I slip .2 mg in there cups before bed and about 20 minutes later they are knocked out. but def check with your pediatrician before trying.

Physical exercise during the day can help wear them down but it also wears down the parents. We're thinking about getting a cat and a dog to play with because they spend too much time with the Ipad and IPhone. This is coming from guy who watched a lot of TV when I was a kid and later spent time playing video games. There's some quality entertainment out there but a lot of it is garbage. I wish I gotten more into physical exercise when I was younger and done more social activities because there's less of that stuff when you're an adult. We only get so much time in life so we should use it wisely. That's one lesson I think I can teach my kids because I wasted a lot of time. The funny thing is my ASD daughter may not really be able to understand my message.

Sorry, got off message but how my daughter will live and how I spent my life makes me think every day.
