Private School In Atlanta, Georgia For High Functioning Autistic Child
We are moving to Atlanta, GA and are looking for a school to send our 5 year old Autistic son. He is very bothered by large groups and lots of noise. We need a calm, nurturing environment. If you are aware of any such school please help.
It depends on his IEP and needs... Georgia passed a law that health insurance companies in the State of GA must provide ABA. How much I have no clue... What I did was look up different parent groups searching on line in Georgia and spoke to people who live there... I also contacted the Fayetteville School district, Gwinett and North Fulton county Schools. They were helpful and I even visited during the Spring Break last year. I know its overwhelming but honestly you need to visit its a BIG State.. Figure out what town/city and county your moving and then you can narrow in on the School detials. Personally I choose areas where I heard the School district is execeptional for children on the Specturm. Its no gurantee of course but I at least feel better hearing postive reviews... If your interested in Fayettville give them a call and explain your situation. GOOD LUCK on everything... (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators)
Im hoping to move to Atlanta soon. I went to visit and what i found was there aws 2 Schools in Alpharetta I liked. Private and expensive (sigh).. Therapy Land and Lion Heart... However through friends I found Fayttiville GA has the best public School options for kids on the Specturm. Atlanta is big so do your research!! Good luck with everything
Which school district did you hear was exceptional for kid on the spectrum. my son is 5 in is high functioning ASD. has it been good?
Thank you so much for sharing this with me. What services does Fayetteville GA offer? Do they offer ABA therapist during the day? I am very overwhelmed by this process.
