Has Anyone Used Vetiver Essential Oils To Any Affect?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I see vetiver mentioned as good for autism and ADHD -- anyone with any experience?
A bit of lavender is totally calming my scaredy cat mild autistic 9 year old son, and I"m willing to pursue this, particularly after this study that showed some good results with essential oils https://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/2013/05...

I use EO's on my son. Cedarwood, vetiver, lavender and frank. All in a blend-for a base. He has adhd as well so that helps to calm him. For autism, I use different things for him based on the kind of day he is having. Brain power, clary sage, common sense are all great. I also use MindWise for him. That has been wonderful! I truly believe in the help these oils give my son, I have seen such amazing changes in him!

Hello, We have been down the long road of DAN doctors doing GFCF diet, chelation, hyperbaric oxygen, supplements, etc, wth little change. Remember every child is different so what might work for one - might not work for another. My recommendation is as long as it is safe and non evasive and economical for your budget, then it is worth a try. Have you tried essential oils? I have recently been able to wean my son off of a blood pressure medication, which was used for helping with sleep, by using Lavendar oil instead. I also am in the process of weaning him off of a medication for behaviors and replacing with a blended oil. I WISH I would have found these oils years ago!!

You can get more information about the oils on my website. I am not trying to sell you on them, but trying to share a very good resource. www.mydoterra.com/autismhelp If you have any questions my number is (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) or I would be more than happy to teach you a class on line (no costs involved) We have spent soooo much money in the past with all of these other treatments and these oils are so economical compared to all of those. These oils are also good for many other ailments besides Autism. Thanks and God Bless you and your family! Anna
