How Is The Houston Area For Kids With PDD-NOS?
We are planning to move to the US next year. Most likely the Houston area. Looking for better chances for my two kids. I would appreaiate any advice or cooment
The Katy ISD has a great elementary school for special needs
We are in the Houston ISD I was a sub-teacher while kids were in primary school-moved son to Shape of Behavior
I don't have firsthand experience, but I've heard some people are happy with Spring Branch ISD - I think they may have an entire special education school (???)
What specifically are you seeking? Public or private school? What type of therapists/doctors? Support groups? Public services are pretty poor in Texas, and the wait lists are long. But, if you have insurance that will cover therapy, Houston has unlimited resources and is probably one of the best places to be with a child on the spectrum,
As far as resources go there are plenty of private therapy, good private schools for ASD kids. Public schools vary depending on where you live. Suburb districts do a better job. Katy, Humble etc
FEAT houston is a great organization to connect to.
Another one is houston Autism Disability Network HADN. Org
