Insurance is required to cover autism therapies in MI. This is a brand new law. i have found it easy to find services in my county but I know that it can vary greatly in other areas. I have also been very lucky when dealing with the school districts but know other parents who have had horrible experiences in the same schools. There is also a support subsidy that families can apply for.

Wisconsin 1 we are a mandated coverage state so most plans bought here MUST include autism treatment there are exceptions and insurance regulation red tape you must dodge to get it though.
2 if your insurance if from out of state our falls into the other loopholes then there is the CLTS waiver however there is some hoop jumping to do there.
3 school districts I'm familiar with have been very autism aware. And willing to do what is needed to get out done. They do come in with a PERiep but usually take your words to heart when creating the final copy.
I don't mind pre UEPs a long as they are NOT intended to be the final copy but a idea of how to get there. Like mapquest saying take I75 south to orlando and you going no I want to see the appellation? Trail.
