Some children respond very well to the biomedical approach while others don't. I know people who have wasted tens of thousands of dollars on biomedical treatments that didn't wind up improving their children's ASD. OTOH, I know other families who got very dramatic improvements as a result of trying biomed. I was lucky enough to find a DAN-affiliated dr. who is a network provider for our insurance, so while not all the tests & treatments he recommends are covered, at least our appointments are. My DD has improved since starting certain supplements he's recommended so I think it has been worth it.
