I have sixteen year old girl, I clearly remember those days. I did eveything under the sun to potty train her. One day when she was six I walk in the bathroom and there she was on the toilet just like she had been doing it for years. What I realized with Destinie is if something dont have meaning to her she wont do it. So for whatever reason that day she decided to go I'll never know....

We have a 5 year old son on the Autistic spectrum and we have been working on it and all I can say is consistency, consistency. We have him wear boxer shorts during the day and take him to the potty about every 20min. We have him pull his boxers down, than sit on the toilet and regardless if he goes or not, we tell him great job!!!! Than we have him pull his boxers back up, help him wash hands than dry them. At night he wears a pull up. There will be accidents through out the day but that is all part of it. We hope he will understand over time. Good Luck!!

My son was still in Pull Ups when he was 6 and I think he just wanted to control when he was going to start using the toilet. I talked to him about it a couple times before his 7th birthday thinking to myself that he has to be out of Pull Ups when he is 7! I asked him how old he would be when he would start using the toilet. He said "seven". I said, so on your 7th birthday, you will start using the toilet? He said, "yep". I put him in underwear on his 7th birthday, his big day, and he started using the toilet that very day and has ever since. It was the oddest thing, but I think for my son, it was a control issue - he wanted it to be his decision, not mine.
