Why is it so hard to find ABA therapy in NJ. I don’t know if I’m not looking in the wrong places or if it should normally take over a month just to get a response from insurance? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you ❤️

We just relocated and are looking to find respite for my 4.5 year old son in the Southern California (Manhattan Beach). Does anyone have recommendations?
Check with your Regional Center. We are a client of Regional Center in our area and receive free respite hours.
How Best To Discipline My 7 Year Old Daughter For Not Listening.
i.e. No, you cannot go in that room, and she proceeds to go in that room.
She is mostly verbal and understands right from wrong and what she is and is not supposed to do. but certain times she just does not listen. I am struggling with how to correct the behavior.

My Grandson Is Being Home Schooled Currently Because The Public School Couldn’t Accommodate His Needs
We are currently home schooling my 14 year old grandson because 9th grade in the public school was very unacceptable to him - the school - too many people - Chromebook’s - he was regressing and that was not acceptable to us. So homeschooling has been good so far but what we are finding out is that we think his aides were doing the work for him. As far as I know NO school teaches life skills. Thats why they graduate without knowing how to use a checkbook, pay bills, count money. Some schools aren’t teaching cursive anymore or how to read an… read more
Should ABA Be PRIORitize? Compare To All Therapies Needed?
You can say it all depends child's diagnosis in reality we’re all getting the same therapy the problem is what to prioritize. Going crazy with ABA. We have been in ABA for 5 months I do and don’t see any progress. They have 1 AbA therapist / BCBA, / someone else training need regards to my daughter dx severe autism but is it better just to have BCBA full-on training ? What advice can anyone provide???? 😭

I've been trying to find a support group for parents of adult children on the autism spectrum for a long time. My son and I live in a small town, so resources are very limited.
There are several fb groups.

Any recommended high schools (public or private) for kids on the spectrum in the Ashville-Hendersonville, NC area? My son with mild autism will be starting 9th grade next school year and we are considering a move.
