Wandering At Night?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Any insight/ suggestions would be appreciated. 5 y has taken to moving chairs to climb on counters to get into cupboards at 2 in the morning. Like toddler parties, but stronger and more determined to get into stuff.

My daughter was a wanderer and sleepwalker and we put locks on all the drawers where you need a magnet to open them with. I would also suggest to you to lock your front doors and all doors leading to the outside because your child may go outside in the middle of the night as well.

We didn’t have toddler parties, although I’m surprised we didn’t. You can get childproof locks for cupboards, doors pretty much anything. All that stuff is on Amazon 👍

Is there a room you can move the chairs to before bedtime to eliminate access to them?
