I’m not sure how to answer that since it really depends on the school and your child’s needs. If there are particular schools you are curious about you can call and ask the registrar, and go meet/tour the school. I used to live near College Park. PG County schools, like most school systems, will try to move your child to the nearest autism program class/school in the area if their needs are significant. It is a bit of a process to figure out if its the best thing for them. Sometimes you have to fight to keep them in a regular school. Getting an education advocate can help. We used Best Solutions Education Services (Debrah Martin). Or you might be able to locate a low-cost or free one through the county or a local organization, depending on your income. To start off though, you might call special education dept at PGCPS to ask about programs in Bowie and Upper Marlboro.
