Due Process W Schools Success?
Hi, does anybody have any success stories regarding due process? Meaning we want our school district to pay for our son to either go to a private school or a residential facility. It’s my understanding these cases are almost always lost, but he really needs that type of care. So the more insight the better. Even if you lost your case..any info would be greatly appreciated.
My son got granted forever placement to a non public school of my choice. It is expensive but you will need an educational advocate that knows what they are doing to evaluate your child. Share your concerns with them and then they set up observation with school to see what gains are captured in the least restrictive environment. You’ll know exactly grade wise how far behind your child is and will point you to a lawyer that can use the educational advocates finding to help build your case.
It is the law for a student with special needs the law states that a school system has to pay for the student's education until they are 18 years old. If the school is in the state or out of state.
I'm sorry I don't remember the number of this law. Please call the Autism Society.

Yeah, I’m aware of that and that’s why they fight it and it always has to go to court. And the majority of the time the court rules in favor of the school this is why I need someone who’s actually gone through this process to give me their experience
I’d say get an education lawyer to help you out.
