My 8 Year Old Grandson Is Severely Autistic And Non Verbal. He’s Getting Big And Having Behavioral Issues. What Medication Could Help?
His Father walked out on the family. He’s gotten worse throwing things. Breaking a window. His father absolutely forbid any kind of medication. Now that he’s not in the picture could my daughter get medication for him without the father’s consent?
If dad walked out and hasn't returned its basically abandonment in that case I see no reason why she can't
My daughter was previously prescribed zoloft but it didnt work out due to her not wanting to take any medication orally so the next best option was Abilify injection. She hasnt experienced any common side effects but i will say she has been experiencing incontinence which isnt a common side effect so not sure if the med is causing this or if she is going through a regression phase. Although that causes some concerns for us, overall abilify has been very beneficial when it comes to her behaviors. Hope this helps! FYI my daughter is 15.
My daughter is on abilify. Has been helping for the past 2 yrs for her behaviors.
Play therapy can help a great deal as well. ❤️
They also have liquid available. My son takes an oral liquid we just put in gatorade or juice because he won't swallow a pill. His appetite got bigger at first but leveled out over time is the only side effect I have noticed with him.
