Hugs ❤️ That has to be frustrating, especially for her. Could she be experiencing anxiety related to being finished with high school? I know a lot of kids are nervous about the next step after graduation, because school is all they've known, and the thought of that changing can be overwhelming. I started college following my senior year, so it wasn't TOO big of a change for me, which made the transition smooth. Yes, it was a much larger setting, I had more independence, and I'd park my car at the mall and take the Metro bus the rest of the way, but the fact I was still in structured classes gave me the familiarity that provided comfort.

As far as the meds go, does she currently have a psychiatrist? I've been on meds for ADHD, anxiety, and OCD since I was 25 and they've been a godsend. I feel like my best self. I recently had my Abilify increased to help me to cope with an increase in anxiety. I feel like ME again :)

Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything! 😊

I can imagine how devastating that must be for both of you. I hope she finds the spark that will motivate her and give her purpose ❤️

Could you find something like equestrian (horse) therapy, or swim therapy, in your area? Just thinking maybe finding some new way of connecting could help. ❤️

Depression is hard on everyone from our kids to us sounds very basic but sunshine and movement helps I'm not a fan of antidepressants to many side effects I always suggest gabapentine....gaba amino butyric acid. It's the base chemical the hypothalamus uses to create oxytocin aka the love drug it works with anxiety and depression while oxytocin has yet to be approved by the FDA yet... gabapentine is a very old and long approved medication for other anxiety and depression as well as nueropathy the side effects are very minimal it's not easy to overdose on either to date no one has died from taking to much the highest recorded dose the person slept several days and woke up very happy I take it have for years not sure why it's not offered instead of antidepressants aside from the fact Dr's get kick backs for prescribing certain meds....chocolate also helps increase serotonin levels and again its very hard to overdose on it hope this helps

Thank u for the reply. She left before completing year 13. All her colleagues sat for AL last month. She was a high achieving pupil . She has given up. She felt she could not focus and also said that everything seems too much for her. The demands were too much and felt she will not cope. Now she has no plans. She just wanted to be inside her room. She is safe, appetite normal. She has no plans for future
