4 Year Old Daughter Ill Every 2 Weeks With Ear Infections And Tonsillitus. Help!
My daughter is 4 and for the last year she is constantly poorly. She's had an ear infection every 2 weeks for about 4 months now, and gets tonsillitus every month. She's had endless antibiotics and it keeps coming back. She's non verbal and it breaks my heart everytime she is poorly, she can't tell me how she feels, she can't tell me if she's in pain anywhere. She's rarely fit and healthy. She's never hardly at school. She has an ENT appointment in 2 weeks and more blood tests next week. She is⦠read more
Sounds like bad tonsils Dr's take their time getting around to a tonsilectomy but that may be the best option. Do you know if she is developing tonsil stones you can tell by slightly pushing lightly on the tonsil a ball of plaque will come out. You can YouTube it or as the ent when you go. I wish you good luck sick kid is hard enough when it's once in a while. Constant sick is just very overwhelming. Big hug to you I know your doing anything you can.
I'll reach out to some professionals I know and see if I can get some positive direction. I'm glad you are being demanding with doctors. That's very normal and human for a caring parent when it comes to their child.
I ask anyone else who reads MissKayK's posts to offer any guidance. You never know what might lead to more clarity in finding some answers for her daughter.
This is a heart breaker of a story. The non-verbal at these earlier ages is so difficult for a parent and adds to the feeling of helplessness to do help our child. Frustrating when the Doctors inform that they don't know. I'll try some other resources to see if I can find any information because we are all on this site to assist one another any way we can. Right now, regrettably, I can only offer my opinion to be not confrontational with the Doctors, but making sure that they are aware that you want answers and need to know any possibilities that can be explored so your daughter feels better. If they have offered you any theories thus far, let us I know on here when you have a moment.
Does she need her tonsils out? I had tonsil stones that started when I was about 16 and kept on until the fall of senior year, which is when I had a tonsillectomy. My adenoids were full of them too, so they were also removed. I used to get sore throats a lot before that, and I rarely do anymore :) Best of luck!
Hi, yes she is on a liquid multi vitamin daily, and she takes feredet iron supplement prescribed from the GP.
