We Call It Nesting.

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 3 year old autistic daughter loooves to take things she currently really likes, and places them all around her forming a circle. It makes her happy, she gets the happy flappys when she does it. We call it her making a nest. But I’m curious of. What it means? Like if anyone out there knows specifically what it’s doing for her or why she’s doing it.

My son has a basket full of things he loves and uses, plays with regularly: UNO cards, a deck of Bicycle playing cards, the book he’s currently reading, deodorant, canvas pouch which he uses to keep his sunglasses and student ID on a lanyard, colored pencils, and a small teddy bear he named Michael.
