Is It Normal For Autistic Children To Constantly Get Into A Fridge, Freezer Or Closets?
What's normal autistic behavior?
Yes, yes, and yes. When Liam started school here around age 4, someone with special ed told me we would need a refridgerator lock. I thought it sounded mean and like something I would not do, but boy was I wrong. Not only will Liam get in the fridge, he likes to pour out liquids and the door got left open at bad times. Now, I am always in the look out for good refridgerator and cabinet locks. We have to have 1 on the closet too because this year, Liam decided his new activity he likes is removing clothes from hangers and throwing them in the floor. Besides the extra laundry, we don't have carpet sp it made a slipping hazard to just leave it accessible.
Yes ! Luna does this. She constantly changes her clothes but never puts anything back. She is constantly in the fridge going after her ice cream and yoghurt.
Thanks RON3
I don't remember a fridge but would climb up on things and cause a bunch of trouble..
Absolutely! Mine does this often. Little monkey! We're always having to get him away from the fridge and freezer.
