What Kind Of Meds Does Ur Lil Ones Take?
Davis currently isn't taking any, but I'd like some info on how u went about getting them and personal experiences. His tantrums and constant yelling are getting worse as he's aging. He has good days and bad days but never in between. He gets to the point where I'm concerned that he'll really injure himself or someone around him. I feel like if he just slowed down a little it would help and maybe he'll und
erstand what's really going on.
Liam had a really difficult time with headbanging and screaming and poor sleep around age 8 or 9. This was also during COVID so his routine was shot. We had got hydroxine previously from his pediatrician to help with sleep. I read reviews for kid pyschiatrists. I called 1 who was listed by my insurance as having knowledge of autism. I had called them 6 months before and they had no spots but they made or had an opening when he started the headbanging. He started abilify then and it really made a difference. Best of luck to you.
Ask about guanfacine (Intuniv ER). It's a non stimulant. It works well for my 8 yr old who has self harming tendencies and was prescribed by his neurologist
Thank you. I will look into a psychiatrist, it sounds just like Davis. His family doctor doesn't like to prescribe that kind of medication. I'm not sure if it's just ignorance or it's not his territory. But this definitely helps.
If you have a ppo and not an hmo, you should not have to have a referral for a pyschiatrist. I think though you probably would need a referral for a nuerologist though to get in. I hope you find sone one good. Everyone's experience is different but finding a good pyschiatrist for has Liam helped make his day to day behavior more manageable in a noticeable way.
Does a psychiatrist or neurologist need a doctor referral?
