I know that he grew a lot lately so his medication probably need to be adjusted. + the hormones at 13 must throw him off as well as he is so sensitive to changes! But how do you deal with those rage meltdowns? When he was younger I was able to manage but now what do I do? He is starting to be quite strong!! What are the options? Distraction is an art that you will grow to love.
Having a favorite snack at hand will help, but don't make it feel like a reward.
Your child is expressing that they need help. Figure out what's the issue for the MeltDown.
They may be being bitten by a tiny bug, or something that they are wearing, or even if their fingernails or toenails need trimming. Sometimes it's a new smell, or noise, or even bright light.
