Sip Cups

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Willard, OH

How to help our autistic child to learn to tip sip cups up when drinking from them so that the cups no longer need to be propped or being helped to tip? What age did they tip cups on their own?

I would have to agree. We use/d small cups with a lid and straw until we felt like she could handle them without the top. My kiddo never seemed to like the "sippy" cups.

Sippy (or Tippy) cups are bad for Our ASD Individuals, It's just another challenge for them to deal with. Use small regular cups and only fill half-full at a time.
