Kaiser Copays For ABA
Does anyone know what level of service Kaiser California considers ABA? Would it be a standard copay or a specialist copay.
Your ABA provider is supposed to collect your standard co-pay if they are contracted with Kaiser
California requires that nearly all health plans cover ABA. I am changing jobs, and have options on health insurance. Just trying to get the most cost effective plan.
You can always Google the information you are seeking online or go to the California Kaiser Permamente website. But to save tyourself a lot of research time and to ensure that you have the correct information regarding Your insurance plan and Your child's benefits I would recommend that you look up the Toll Free Customer Service number and Call to talk to someone directly. There is a relatively new Disability Act passed that requires that ABA Therapy be made available to ALL children who would benefit from it according to their Diagnosis and/or a Doctors recommendation. So even if your Insurance says it is Not Covered, your child would still be able to recieve services if they qualify for ABATherapy.
I am not a resident of California, and I dont have Kaiser insurance but I would guess that ABA Therapy would be charged under Specialist Co-pay since ABA is considered a Specialty service.
I live in Ohio. I know my son has Medicaid and they pay for his services. So I am not sure.
