I’m Looking For Advice On Giving Holiday Gifts To Teachers And Therapists.
My son is in 1st grade at a public school. He has a teacher, of course, plus a paraprofessional, an OT, a speech therapist, a bcba, and a special ed director on his IEP team. I’m trying to figure out who to give a holiday gift to, and what to give. We don’t have a lot to spend, but I want to show gratitude. What are others of you doing for your kids teachers and therapists?
Make sure you find out if they have a limit that they can accept. Like in my area, professionals can often accept a gift worth up to 15 or 25 dollars (depending on what company or agency they work with). You could also always get them keychains. You can get personalized keychains off ebay. I saw one the said worlds best speech therapist. Or another one that said, I help people communicate, whats your superpower?.
I usually just do cards...not original I know, but they appreciate it.
We don't have much money either. I give my 7yr old some money from her piggy bank and we went to salvation army. We spent about a dollar or two for each gift. Her classroom teacher received a decorative bowl. It wasn't anything great but my daughter picked it out. I emailed her gift recipients to let them know. Each was very appreciative and thought the gifts were wonderful.
Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I decided to do a target gift card for his teacher & para, and a card each for his OT and language therapist. Will try to get him to help, but he hates writing, so we will see🙂. Happy holidays to all of you!
Oh I wish I had thought of your keychain idea earlier! My son is really into keychains (he hangs them on his backpack) and they all know it. That would have been a perfect gift, but I think I’ve run out of time.
