Have Any Of You Hospitalized Your Child For A Med Wash?
My 12-year-old is dangerously aggressive and the meds that worked for years no longer work now that he's hit puberty. Our team is talking about admitting him to an in-patient program for 30 days to safely work him off of the medications he is taking and then add in new medications that might work better for him. I know this may sound like a dumb question but when the med wash happens at the hospital/ or treatment center, would / is the parent allowed to stay with their child ? This has been brought up to us to do before but I never considered it unless this was allowed

We do use several biomedical treatments. For years we were biomedical only and I refused to give him any drugs. But it really was the best choice for him.
A medication wash is where you check into a hospital or pediatric psychiatric ward to get stepped down off of a medicine under close supervision of medical staff. It takes several days/weeks.
What's a "med wash"? Detox rehab or something like that. I didn't see the term when I googled it.
