What Activities Are Your Go-To During Inclement Weather?

Recently, Norah has been sick and/or the weather has been wet and rainy. What are somethings you do with your kiddos on the spectrum to keep them active? I have a bean bucket, play doh, and my little lady LOVES to read, listen to music, puzzles for a few minutes at a time, tossing her ball around, etc. But there are only so many hours in the day that doing those things over and over gets her bored quickly and I don't want to resort to television:(

p.s. I also have a Minnie Mouse tent and… read more

I have a dance party, they only dance if I dance too lol. Bubbles are a lifesaver sometimes. I make blanket forts and get in with them, they love when I join them. I make ramps out of wrapping paper rolls and tape them to the wall and they roll their hot wheels down them. "Painting" with construction paper and water, no paint needed on the paint brush. I get out my pots and pans and let them "cook" me some toy soup, they like putting small toys in them and stirring them around with a wooden spoon and hearing the clang. Play doh and googly eyes are fun, I put eyes on the shapes we make. Pipe cleaners and a pasta strainer are fun, they put them through the holes. Cardboard boxes are so much fun to my boys. They love ripping paper and throwing it up in the air and watching it fall. Paper airplanes. Playing with a balloon.

Well the floor turns to lava a lot here during the winter:). My kids love that game. We also do a family camp night once a week where we make sheet forts, eat junk food, watch movies, and play games. The library is a lifesaver too, there always having something going on, and if not just going to play in the kids room and get books a few times a week cheers up the kiddos from cabin fever.

Morgan loved to play Candy Land, he could play that game for hours. He also liked a game called Break The Ice he liked being able to hit the cubes and watch them fall to the ground. Bubbles maybe, finger paint, maybe some sort of activity table like rice, water, shaving cream. Hope some of this is helpful.
