Persistence, persistence , persistence is key. You literally need to call several times a week . Unless you get a qualified consumer coordinator they will onform how long the wait for ABA services will be. Bubb was on a waiting list a list for diagnosis. 6 months later regional center diagnosed him with asd. When your child's service's begin , don't be afraid to let these therapists know where tou stand. Be prepared to have several people on your house...of course on the day everyone's tired and your child is having a meltdown
We have gone through 3 therapists within 1 year . Alot of the ABA therspists are people fresh out of college with their BA. I asked one of the therapists how long she had been working hands on with asd kids...my kid was her first client...no bueno. Be assertive because at the end of the day your child will benefit

@A MyAutismTeam Member Thanks for quick reply. I am following up with both ABA providers as well as with RC. My child is 2 years and 3 months old now.

Thanks @A MyAutismTeam Member, @A MyAutismTeam Member! Sure will stay persistent to get the therapy started. I wonder why they take so much time as time is very crucial with kids and 6 months is a long wait and a lot could be done within this time.

Has anyone received ABA through Kaiser HMO in Northern California? Do they have their in-house ABA therapists? We are wondering if we can switch to kaiser from UHC so we receive ABA and speech through Kaiser as RC only supports therapy until the age of 3. Let me know if anyone has tried Kaiser and how happy are you with their service.
