How Long Do You Typically Do ABA Therapy For?

A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭
Portland, OR

I am sure the answer is that it depends on the child. How long do people usually do ABA therapy for? A couple years, until they reach school age, until they hit certain milestones? Or is it something that you continue to do? Thanks in advance for answers!

We have had ABA for our daughter since diagnosis which was at 2. She is 11 and we still use it. My son is12 and he still has it but it is limited because he has Mild ASD as opposed to his sister who has severe. It just depends on how much bevavior issues are still there and the child's ability to gain skills.
