My son is on the spectrum and is about to start kindergarten next year. He's zoned to Jones Elementary and I'm finding it difficult to decipher how well this school will support his needs.

It's important to his mother and I that he's placed in an integrated classroom since he's high functioning.

We have until next week to choose our preferred school to send him to in the SAN Diego unified school district. Does anyone have any recommendations for great school that are relatively close or can… read more

Hello. Our son had to be bused to Jones Elementary last year for Pre-K as he is autistic, but live in another school zone. The school he had to attend this year is not Jones and we wish he could have stayed at Jones. Jones did an amazing job with his teaching, care, and one on one services. Loved it and wish he could go back there!

I have the same issues with my 1st grader at his school.......... I feel it all boils down to funding..... it is sad that our children cannot get the support that they need because they are unwilling to put it down into their IEP as needed as they do not have the resources to provide the services as they would have to do by law.

Hi my son is a 5th grader getting ready for 6th grade in the fall. He is also high functioning with no behaviors and does very well with Math & reading just needs an aide sometimes for comprehending story. Anway, i am trying to get him NSD class at mesa verde . It is so frustrating that our new IEP admin designee doesnt agree with our choice saying the school doesnt have the program my son needs but the other admin designee for his IEP during 4th at the previous school agreed. How do we get the public school we chose even if the adminstrative designee at our IEP disagrees?
