Sometimes the labels can make a difference but in most cases it is the evaluations that make the difference. Evaluations gauge not only the academic abilities but physical and social ones to. Since autism is a spectrum these qualities can and do differ from child to child.

When you are talking about labels and what you get from schools it is going to depend on their evaluation and not the actual label.

When doctors evaluated my son, it was the worst day in his life. We eanted to sleep and he felt horrible the whole time during examination. I think it affected the result. Is it really important to classify them?

You want it to be accurate but we have been told to stress my daughter's problems in order to get help. People doing the evaluations only see the kid for a short period so they don't get whole picture. My daughter is probably moderate but we've never seen that term in any evaluation.

Yes I agree the school works different ......that's why my daughter is not getting the right help in school . She has behavior issue and they don't put her in a school that deal with behavior .
