ABA Making My Daughters Behavior Worse, Is This Something That Happens And Then Improves Or Should I Switch Where She Has Her Theraphy?

Have been in ABA for about 8 months things were going well and the the past 2 months terrible tantrums and excessive whining at almost everything. I am at a loss right now don't know what to do.

Every child is different, but with my son his behavior did get worse before it got better, aba is a drastic change for a child, my advice would be to try and stick with it for now and see if it gets better. And remember if anything is being done in aba that you don't like say something, you're in charge and you can make changes to suit your child

I know how you feel! It's like it's getting worse. And I think it's all because of lack of communication :( it's not their fault or our fault. They can't communicate so the only thing they can do is cry, whine or literally freak out. It is very hard to be patient. He's my only child and I have barely any patience lol but just remembering that he cannot communicate and that's why it's getting worse probably then that helps me better understand that he's not doing it to be mean but because he's having a hard time. Hang in there!

I think we sometimes also forget that yes our kids have autism but they are also kids. There is often a honeymoon time and sometimes a hurdle when that wears off. I remember taking my daughter my non autistic child to daycare she loved it at first until she realized it was going to be an every day thing.

The first thing the therapist said before we even started was it can get worse before it gets better, but it will get better and you will see change.

Thank you @A MyAutismTeam Member my daughter is non verbal, I do try and remember it's as hard on her as me but it's hard to have patience everyday since her tantrums are increasing.
