My daughter took dance/gymnastic when she was 5-6, however we did not know at the time she was ASD. She had a few instances but eventually I was asked not to bring her back after a big meltdown. If your going to do it may I suggest trying to find one that has a special needs program or is more patient.

Look for all children have the right to play tumbling facility. Your local police department may know of one because the sponsor..boys and girls clubs... spec Olympics and/or the schools should have a list of references

My son actually did very well with it. I think the most important thing to consider is how open the gymnastics studio is. With where my son went they always had someone "floating" that could step in and help him if he needed it.

I started my daughter out with one on one lessons first to get her used to the environment. Unfortunately the establishment that we were working with was very inconsistent and my hope was to get her going into the class with the other kids. Since then we have relocated and I am searching for a place that will let me attend class with her to be right there to keep her on task when needed.
