United doesn't cover it and I understand even medicaid doesn't either. I understand the law says it is a medical diagnosis and Insurance is supposed to cover it, but I was told our United Health is bartered by my husbands work company and THEY don't want to pay for it, but Insurance always blames everyone else. I say if it is the law, then it should never be on the bargaining table to NOT get coverage.

I also have Cigna and they do not cover ABA. I don't know about your insurance and state regulations. I don't know why Autism treatment centers would not accept your insurance if it covers ABA. Good luck.

OneAwesomeSon, thank you for that belly laugh. I agree. The healthcare system is a joke. My daughter was diagnosed about 4 months ago. Insurance is still "working on approving" ABA. We've had periods of crisis and all we get is directed to a hotline. My advice? Get the books from courses as if you were training to become a certified ABA therapist and do it yourself while you wait. That's what I'm going to do and have done with other therapies.

We have cigna. We live in south florida. We use butterfly effects and love them for ABA.
