My son was just diagnosed 4 months ago so, I have limited experience with talking to others about it. One thing that I have found is that many people have a set picture of what autism is in their mind, and it is usually based on very limited exposure. I have found that I have to explain what ASD actually means and that no two people with ASD will necessarily be similar.
