Is Anyone Having A Hard Time Finding Aftercare And Keeping Your Job
I'm a single mother, living on my own, and am having trouble keeping my fulltime job and went through all in home daycare and daycare centers in my town. My daughter's school district can only drop her off to an in-town address, but over the years she tried multiple daycares for aftercare and I have called all the rest, but when they here me say autism, they say they dont have the staff. Any suggestions or anyone else that relates?
I would agree with @A MyAutismTeam Member about a college or even a highschool junior or senior that wants to go into education. How about an after school care at the school usually ran by the Y. If you can get aba services after school then they can go to a regular daycare and do the aba with your child there. That way the childcare would be more comfortable. Even if you hire a shadow or get a shadow provided during daycare that should help. I hope your child is in Full day through the school district and where do the kids that need aftercare go there. Your best bet would be trying to get extra ABA services afterschool and have them done at the afterschool program. We have been receiving afterschool ABA for 15 years 10 hours a week 2 hours a day. Incorparate your childs homework in the program and work on socialization. Least restricted environment and No kids left behind act should help.
I'm not currently working at any jobs but I struggle to find a baby sitter even to finding a respite care provider
yes, i do
I am going to look into afterschool aba. Thank you
