Can Anyone In The Kansas City Area Offer A Recommendation For A Psychiatrist That Specializes In Autism?
We live in the Kansas City, MO area and I was told recently by my son's pediatrician that he needs to see a psychiatrist. Unfortunately, this is not our first rodeo as he has seen several different therapist/psychiatrists over the years and we have had nothing but bad luck. It seems that most of the ones we find practice general psychology, but I need to find someone who specializes in ASD that can truly understand what we are going through and what we need. I hope it's not too late to contribute. My son also sees a psychologist and developmental pediatrician (for medication) at Children's Mercy Developmental and Behavioral clinic. He's started going there at 4 and he's 12 now. We've had a pretty good experience with them. It helps that he sees the same doctors pretty consistently.
We have been working with behavioral clinic at Children's Mercy and have been very pleased.
